PSHE and Well-being

Healthy Schools Gold Award!

Awarded February 2022

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the Gold award for Healthy Schools.  Our focus for this award was in supporting the emotional wellbeing and resilience of our children and we are proud of the progress we have made.

Feedback from our award:

The school have clearly made the focus on resilience a priority and in spite of the many challenges during the period of implementation have been able to demonstrate a positive shift across many of the pupil survey questions. It’s great to see that so much of the effective practice is being embedded in the school provision and ethos to ensure that improvements continue to be made.”

Considering all that was going on, the school has obviously worked very hard to support the emotional wellbeing of the pupils and develop their resilience. This is not only shown by the improvement in most outcomes but also shown by the improvement in the results of virtually all the survey questions.

In addition, children were set a challenge to show how they like to express themselves and this was made into a video which was shared with families at the end of the week. Top tips for wellbeing were also shared with families. What a brilliant week! Well done all!

Car Share Scheme

October 2017

As you are aware, we are accredited with the SILVER award from TFL for our work towards making sure our school community travel to school in a sustainable and healthy way. Being a SILVER school, we are currently among other London schools who are setting high standards to inspire others to transform travel habits, fully engaging the wider community to promote best practices, and seeing a measurable reduction in the number of journeys made by car every day. A small proportion of you bring your child to school daily by car. To alleviate the associated problems of congestion and pollution, we would be interested in hearing if you would like to be involved in a car share scheme. This would involve working with other parents who live in your area and want to share picking up duties. e.g, One parent does the school run on Monday, another on Tuesday... If this would be of interest to you, please come to the front office and place your name on our car share list. I f we get a satisfactory response, we will contact you with the names of others in your area who would like to be involved in this car share initiative.
